10 weeks

5 Feb

When I first decided I would blog about my motherhood journey + my running on here, I truly thought I would update at least once a week if not more. Not in my wildest dreams did I realize that being a mom was 1) the toughest job I’ve ever had 2)completely all consuming. Showering? When was the last time I did that? Eating, did I eat a meal today? Exercising – HAHA! right. I am getting in lots of upper arm weights if you know what I mean. Add in trying to keep up with my one class this semester at UAA and I have my hour and half each morning when the baby is still asleep and I’m up at the crack ass of dawn to enjoy my gigantic mug coffee in peace.

On to the baby..

Mark was out of town all week this week and did he miss out. This week it was like I had a new baby on my hands. Gus has become so interactive with me. We talk and sing and he just stares and stares at me like I’m the coolest thing on the face of the planet. I love how every thing I do makes him laugh. I’m pretty much a rock star in his eyes, and I’m loving it. He isn’t eating as often which is nice, and getting him down for bed is much easier these days. He’s usually in bed by 8pm (and so am I! ).

Our next big adventure is flying to Austin next week. I’m pretty much terrified but I’ll fill you in with all you ever wanted to know about flying with a baby. Well what do you know, it’s like he knew I was typing. He has awoken. Bye for now!

I once asked my mother how someone could be a stay at home mom….I mean, what do they DO all day?? My mom laughed at me. I think I was like 12 or something. Quite honestly, I hope to be a mostly stay at home mom one day (work part time somewhere??)…nursing is a fabulous mom job, which is one reason why I hesitate to jump ship to another career. (Although, my job is MUCH better than my last one, so no worries, nursing isn’t all bad!!)
